A maze of innocence to sustain the progeny

                                                                                          Author: Suzanne M. Day

the 12 given words:
huffing, pursuing picture maze innocence full
marriage confining capable traces find edge

3WW given words:
flinch (to draw back or shrink from)
gape hastily

PU's Midweek Motif  -  flowers

Huffing and puffing pursuing a dream
Picture of life in the fast lane more to do
with love and emotions than financial
stability and flaunting of wealth

A maze of innocence to sustain the progeny
Fully aware that marriage and the confining
thereafter is a responsibility not just of  those
capable but all of humankind to contribute

Traces of failures no more are acceptable
Some may find themselves on edge but they
should not hastily flinch from efforts now
readily available leaving many gaping
at the wonderful wonders of ART**

How then not to marvel at the challenges
facing motherhood and in overcoming them
Beautiful flowers to be ogled at and to be
showered with all the love by their menfolks
Mankind is blessed that mothers are invented

  3. You are telling many childless women that they have a duty to reproduce? Hmm. Maybe I read that wrong--not that it's important that I agree. This is wonderful: "Picture of life in the fast lane more to do
with love and emotions than financial
    stability and flaunting of wealth"

Maybe that's what we all need to reproduce! I get it! LOVE!

  5. We are all blessed to HAVE a mother; all are not blessed to BE a mother. There are other ways to have a rich and productive life, and one need not be a mother to be fulfilled. Rather mankind is blessed that women are invented! Your poem is, however, a lovely tribute to mothers.

Thanks Beverly! It is not the same. Nothing beats being a mother. It comes with a lot of smiles!

  6. As a youngster I was always amazed that women not only bore children and looked after them they also seemed to do all of the work too. However that is because I was at home and didn't know much about my dad's job. Nowadays I think that women perhaps only do 75%!

    2. 75% is a big percentage. The beauty is that ladies have then the strength to stabilize the home environment for all families.

  7. It is indeed a good thing that women who find it hard to have the children they want can be helped. It is one aspect of freedom of choice. I expect some men have been involved in creating the technology, and deserve gratitude for that, along with all the women who may have been involved in it. It is not OK, though, for anyone to dictate to another person what they should or must do or not do concerning their reproductive life, and it does seem particularly wrong for a man to tell a woman that she must reproduce. And then there is the whole question of over-population, which has caused much damage to our planet. Women who, for whatever reason, do not have children may well be doing more good for humanity than those of us who become mothers.

    1. Rightly so Rosemary! Any lady will want to cuddle their own bundle of joy. It is just that some are luckless. Some have it some don't. Congrats to those who have!

They do, philosophically speaking. But they have to carry the burden of society on their shoulders all alone. A personal sacrifice but in return not benefiting their emotional self. A pity!
